Taking Pride In What We Provide To Our Guests

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

It’s approx. 7:58 a.m. and it’s already a beautiful day in the mountains! Beautiful blue skies, a blanket of pristine white snow on the ground, brisk winter air, with a scent of a fresh pot of coffee wafting in the air.

As we prepare our office to greet our guests I pause at the thought of how lucky we are to live and enjoy such wonderful gifts everyday. Yes, living in higher elevations does have its challenges from time to time, but, it also has many rewards that overshadow any possible negatives.

We’re happy for our visitors to come and enjoy our piece of paradise, whether it is for a brief stay or longer, the time they spend at our cabins and in Big Bear will be a special time spent.

Our field staff prepares each cabin with the utmost care. They take pride in their work and won’t consider preparing a home less than the high standards our guests have come to appreciate. We want everyone that enters one of our homes to realize that we take their comforts seriously and work diligently to ensure an exceptional environment, right down to folding towels, toilet paper, and kleenex in our own very special way!

Our office staff is warm and welcoming and wants to make sure you know they appreciate your visit and will be here if you need anything at anytime.

We have a twenty four hour emergency line to trouble shoot any problem that may arise during your stay. All our cabins are thoroughly inspected for properly functioning appliances prior to a guests arrival. We know that part of a great stay is to make sure the home is well maintained and impeccably clean!

We know that there are many rental companies to choose from, we intend to set a higher standard than the average! We not only want you to come and enjoy, but to also return and refer your friends and relatives again and again.

Our guests know that they can trust and rely our service and our appreciation of their choosing to stay with us. Our standards of care is high on every property, from one bedrooms to five bedrooms lake fronts. Every cabin is prepared with the same care and concern.

Our guests are able to feel confidence that our level of pride and high standards are experienced in any size or price cabin. We hand select homes with owners who also are aware of our higher standards and allow us to maintain the cabins as they should.

Also, pricing, we have lowered our prices to reflect what our economy is confronted with in today’s market. Now is the time to get incredible deals and stay the extra night or two. In some cases we’ve had guests state that our lower prices have made it possible for them to stay at all.

Keeping our standards high and our prices low is a recipe for success. The only thing needed is for you to come up and enjoy not only our beautiful mountain but also a wonderful home away from home.

Memorable vacations ALWAYS begin with Affordable Accommodations!

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Where else can you drive less than an hour to 2 hours out of Los Angeles to come up to a natures winter wonderland. When was the last time you built a snowman? Have you taught you child to make a snow angel? Well, here’s your chance, Big Bear has the perfect amount of snow to bring the fond memories back, better yet, make new ones. There’s snow much fun to be had, staying an afternoon just wouldn’t be enough time to experience it all. Be adventurous, take a trip down a bobsled on the Alpine Slide, tube down the groomed snow play hill at Magic Mountain Recreational Park. Get the family together and have a snowball fight at your very own rental cabin, make a family of snow people, and don’t forget to leave your personal snow angel imprint! Good Ol’ fashioned family fun is just what is needed to bring the family together. Remember, the family that plays together, stays together.

Life gets too hectic with too many have to dos. Take time to make the time to enjoy yourselves. You will never get another today to do over. Make your time count, realize the importance of bonding with your kids.

We hear far too many times, “If I’d only taken more time to enjoy myself”, or “I’ll get around to it when I can”, trust us, the work will always be there, the office will definitely survive without you. Go ahead, go out on a limb and just take the time off or instead of spending the weekend at home doing chores, take the family to see a total change of atmosphere.

Snow Summit and Bear Moutain, The Best Ski Resorts in Southern California

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Wow, Christmas 2008 was one of the whitest Christmases Big Bear has experienced in a very long time! Big Bear Lake, Ca. had the largest snow fall in 35 years! We got so much snow that Cal. Trans had difficulty in keeping up, the City actually closed roads all over, the only vehicles allowed on the streets were police and emergency vehicles. Snow conditions at Snow Summit and Bear Mtn. are exceptional, 100% open with terrain covering a staggering 438 acres.

Big Bear Lake in Southern California is the proud home of two premier ski resorts. Each resort has its own favorite with skiers and snowboarders. Everyday skiers looking for a kick back friendly winter play ground make their choice Snow Summit, while other enthusiasts prefer Bear Mountain because of its freestyle terrain. Bear Mountain is noted to be the only mountain resort in the United States mainly dedicated to offering freestyle terrain. Both resorts are popular with all levels of experience. Their state of the art snowmaking technology sets both resorts apart from other ski resorts in Southern California.

The Log Cabin Restaurant

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

This restaurant is family owned and operated. A landmark in Big Bear, this favorite “locals” restaurant is sure to please visiting guests in every way. Starting with its charming decor, a welcoming staff, beautiful tung and groove knotty pine walls, a roaring fire in the fireplace, and quality food with an emphasis on “comfort cuisine”, this cozy mountain favorite has withstood the test of time and is why the Log Cabin Restaurant has earned a place in Big Bear’s history. The Log Cabin is also one of only two restaurants in Big Bear serving authentic German food. Also serving bar beverages throughout the day and evenings. We urge visitors to stop in and see for yourselves.
