The fire is crackling in the fireplace, the sky is dark and I’m drinking a cup of hot cocoa, life is good here in Big Bear. Aside from the traffic of the cars coming and going, things are serene and peaceful. It’s easy to take the time to watch the nature around you, the squirrels playing around the building, the pine tree branches being weighted with freshly fallen snow and the birds standing still on the frozen lake.

Monday, January 26th, 2009Was glad to see that we got about six inches of freshly fallen snow last night; it’s all soft powder, so the skiers and snowboarders should be happy. Saw lots of kids at the snow play areas, sledding and tubing, looked like fun.
