Walk For Autism and Colon Cancer Research

Monday, March 30th, 2009

I just heard on the radio, a wonderful act of kindness being performed by two of our local high school girls, here in Big Bear. They have decided to do a walk for the cure.

They are walking, and encouraging others to join them, as well as taking donations for autism research, as well as colon rectal cancer research.

If you would like to participate in this walk, or donate to one of the causes, you can go onto the big bear radio station website, kbhr933.com and find out more on how to help these two girls in their quest to make a change for the better.

Spring Cruisin Event

Monday, March 30th, 2009

With Spring shining upon us, it also brings a lot of our major events that we put on in Big Bear.

Being that I own a 53Chevy Bel Air, my favorite events are with the Antique Car Club. They are an awesome club that does numerous fund raisers throughout the Spring and Summer months to raise money for local charities.

Their first event here in Big Bear, “Spring Cruisin’” is on April 26th at Nottingham’s.

So, if you are an enthusiast of old cars, you won’t want to miss out on this fun and charitable event!

Spring Activities On The Lake

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Spring is here, and it is beautiful!

I thought I would enlighten you about a couple of fun springtime activities to do on the lake, here in Big Bear.

The lake is opening shortly and a must see is the Miss Liberty Paddle Wheel Boat, you can actually take this full lake tour year round, as it has an enclosed area.

Another fun tour is The Pirate Ship. It looks like an authentic pirate ship from a world long ago, but it runs with all the modern conveniences of today. It is a great adventure to partake during your stay here.

Becoming One With Nature

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

One of the best treats about living in Big Bear is that we have many of natures attributes right in our own back yard or just around the corner.

Today is an awesome day, blue skies and warm sunshine. Warm, relaxing, thought provoking time that allows me to ponder the idea of taking a hike to enjoy all the beauty that surrounds us!

I look forward to days like this in Big Bear…there priceless!

Hiking generates a kind of rythmn in your mind. The passage through lush landscape echoe’s and stimulates a series of thoughts.

Hiking is the best workout! You can hike for three hours and not even realize you’re working out. Hiking alone lets me have some time to myself and really listen to my inner thoughts.

Life is not measured by the breaths that we take, but, by the moments that take our breath away!
