Parasailing Over Big Bear Lake

Parasailing Over Big Bear Lake

Now that it is Spring here on Big Bear Mountain there are some great ways to stay cool and enjoy the warm weather out on the lake.

If you are not too afraid of heights than you can try going parasailing, just give Big Bear Parasail a call and they will take you out on the lake for a very fun flight.

Big Bear Parasail opened back in 1988 and has been operating out of Pine Knot Marina ever since. It is owned and operated by long time Big Bear residents which provides them with a unique knowledge of the mountain  environment and the high altitude wind and weather conditions.

Parasailing could be the perfect way to spend the day if you are in the mood for a little bit of adventure.

Fishing is good, work is good, life is good!

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

What a typical Big Bear Week. After work on Monday I went fishing at the local park. It was 4:00 PM and I had on a sweatshirt and jeans. I did not catch anything, but it was beautiful looking across the lake with gorgeous weather!. You know what they say, “A bad day fishing is better than a good day working.”

Actually, I had a good day working and a good day fishing! I had decided that spring had sprung and life was good! Well, life is good but it turned cold on Wednesday and I thought I might need to take out the snowblower again. Thank goodness it was just COLD!

I had the late shift today, but before work I had to water my new meadow seeds because it was warm and beautiful again. Everyone should live here!

Snow Summit to close this Sunday!

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

What a beautiful day it was today! And surprisingly, as we get deeper into Spring, Snow Summit Ski Resort still remains open, but not for long.

Their expected closure date is set for this Sunday. As you may already be aware, Bear Mountain Ski Resort already shut its doors on Easter Sunday, so the snow is wearing thin up here folks, and this will be the last weekend of the season to get any snowplay in, so I recommend you book today, for this weekend, so you won’t miss out. -

Happy Earth Day Everyone!!!

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

April 22nd, lets all make a difference!! .

Do you know what happens to garbage after people take it away?

The people take it to their factory and they sort it from plastic, glass, metal, paper, and so fourth! Then they take any extra’s to the incinerator. Then they burn it using cold, wet garbage to cool and hard, hot garbage to heat.

After that they take it to the field’s. They dig a hole and put a layer of garbage in the hole. Then they put a layer of dirt. They keep on doing this until the hole is filled. Then grass over the dirt and garbage, and they do it again and again.

They could make some places out of it. Nature preserves and ball fields, concert stadiums and lots more. Not literally made out of garbage, just holes filled up with it all. This actually helps the Earth more!!

So it’s not a bad thing to do. It’s not littering. It helps the plants to grow more!!

So, on Earth Day I hope everyone will do their share of helping out our mother earth!! :)
