Trees for the 21st Century

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Trees for the 21st Century is an tree-planting program for children ages 6 to 18, involving science-based learning, tree-planting, and ongoing stewardship activities.  Although this program is school based, it is designed for clubs, civic groups and to help children value long term stewardship of trees, Earth’s “perfect organic machines.”  This can be done with a city or a family!

ERTHNXT (earthnext) is an online community that is a terrific starting point.  info@erthnxt.org is your contact for great planting ideas.  Planting is done in the Spring, but reservations must be make by October 1, 2009.

If you want to see some great established trees, give us a call at 1 (866) 37- CABIN or check out our website www.bigbearrentals.net to get the best rental deal on the hill!  That’s Gold Rush Resort Rental!

We look forward to hearing from you,
8) Susan

Avocado Mango Chicken Leftovers

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Ok so I know you just had to try my Avocado Mango chicken, and I’m sure there is leftover chicken and probably some of that salsa too.

Mine was SO yummy that I just couldn’t throw it away. So here’s what I did with mine, I’m not sure which was better the hot chicken with the mango salsa served over the top, or this delicious salad that I made.

I guess you’ll have to decide for yourself, after you try them both!

I just chopped up the leftover chicken and mixed it with the salsa. I cut some romaine lettuce and I happened to have some seedless grapes. I tossed the lettuce with the grapes and added the chicken salsa mixture.

You can add what ever you think might be good, I’m going to add some Pine Nuts the next time I make it or even some garbanzo beans, make it your own do what you want, just make sure you have a great dinner with your family.

 Hope you enjoy!

~Sara

Christmas Cabin’s In Big Bear Lake

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

large-santa-face

Just a reminder that the holidays are right around the corner and our homes are filling up fast. Come up and stay in one of our many homes and have Santa visit the home for the kiddies or tell us you want a tree in your home and bam it’s done!

Last year we had Santa running around visiting the homes and our guests loved having him come to the home knowing their childs name/names and leaving a stocking for them and telling them to be good.

It’s so beautiful up here in Big Bear during the winter months with the temperatures cold enough to have hot coco and roast marshmallows after sledding all day or making a snow person.

So why wait to make your reservation, the homes might be gone and the good times to be had…So give me call today to make your holiday one to remember….1 (800) 363-8303 and check out our website at http://santaschristmascabins.com to check out our specials and see our homes all decked out for the holidays…..Bre… Ho Ho Ho
