The Easter Bunny is on his way soon, so I want to tell you the story I was told as a child about why the big bunny has a short fluffy tail.
It was one very cold Easter many, many years ago and the bunny was out leaving his treats for all the little boys and girls. Back then the Easter Bunny had a very long luxurious tail much like a tail you would see on a very large squirrel. He was very proud and maybe a little vain about this beautiful tail.
Well, this particular year it was extremely cold out and as the big bunny was hiding the eggs his long tail ended up freezing to the ground. The bunny was very worried about this and no matter how he tried he could not get his tail unfrozen and he ended up tugging on it so hard that his long beautiful tail ended up breaking off only leaving a small fluffy stump. And from that day on all the bunnies the world over no longer have the long tails and are left with the small little cotton tails that we all recognize today.
