Paradise is only a short drive away!

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

One of the best things about Big Bear has to be the fact that it’s a drive to destination.

Many people may not realize it, but Big Bear is actually a four season resort. The winter is obviously best known for its skiing and snow boarding and many guests come here in the summer to play on the lake and get away to cooler temperatures of the mountain.

But Spring and Fall are still Big Bear’s best kept secret. Many hikers, fisherman and mountain bikers have found out that the Spring and Fall is prime time for a visit!

Although currently the rates at the Gold Rush Resort Rentals are by far cheaper than usual, after the labor day holiday, you are treated to much greater reduced rates.  The temperatures are still excellent and the lake is open and less crowded. So check out Big Bear in the fall or spring if you want to experience the full beauty without the crowds.

Experience the difference the Altitude makes!

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

When you want to get away, come to Big Bear Lake, you’ll experience the mountian ambience and environment that is very different from your daily life, yet not too far to get to.

You can choose from many of our cabins in the Big Bear Lake area that are convenient to the ski slopes in the winter and to the lake in the summer. Thedscn7984 beauty of a mountain town on a lake is that you can visit it any time of year, enjoy your surroundings, and have plenty of things to do.

While it is most important that your Big Bear cabin be comfortable and clean, you might also want amenities such as wireless internet, televisions with DVD players, and hot tubs. These amenities are especially important in the winter months when, after a fun and active day of skiing, you can relax and unwind before going to bed, either in front of the TV or in a cozy spa.

We have many options to choose from, as a matter of fact, choosing just the right one is part of the fun!

Whether you are staying in the summer, winter, spring, or fall, we have the just the right cabin at the right price to make your stay perfect.

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

The 5th annual trout fest is proven to be a popular outing for everybody in your family.  Come on up to the crisp air in Big Bear lake and enjoy a weekend among your fellow anglers as you fish for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.

Prizes will be awarded to the top five finishers as every year a big fish trophy will also be awarded to the largest trout caught over the two day event. Trust me,  even if you think this is out of your league there is a blind boggy contest, this year their breaking up 5,000 dollars,  so,  even a bad day could pay off big [Ii myself have proven this true, last year I won $300.00 for a 1.2 pound trout over a two day event, ,sure it's a little embarassing to be called up but cash is cash]. The exciting part is they stock 30 special trout with tags on them that are worth big prizes, all the way up to a 2009 Ford F150.

Saturday, the 3rd, the local B’s bbq is hosting a free lunch to all anglers as all kinds of sponsors will have booths set up and giving away free stuff like rapala, panther martin, mercury, plano, shakspeare and lowe boats.

There’s even a special drawing and prizes for kids catches, and goodie bags given away to the first 600 sign ups, the cost for this two day event is only $75.00 for adults and $50.00 for kids under 16 years old, and that includes all fun stuff like the blind boggy and it enters every one for a chance to win a fishing boat and trailer .

Don’t forget, this event is October 3rd and 4th so make some reservations now with Gold Rush Resort Rentals and tell them you’re in the trout fest and looking for a great price on a private cabin to relax in between those working days on the lake 1-800-363-8303
