winterscene

What a treat this morning held for all us locals in Big Bear California. Everything was white…Yep we got some snow!!! Not too much but just enough to make everything covered in white.

So now I’ve got a fire going and we’re sipping on hot coffee and humming Christmas carols….la…la…la la.

Wow, our homes are filling up quick for the holidays but we do still have some great homes available for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have some “Cool Deals” for both of these holidays, like stay for two nights and get a free night for the Thanksgiving holiday, this special is for certain homes so make sure to ask about our specials when calling our office at 1 (800) 363-8303.

Visit our website at www.cabin411.com or if you want to check out our Christmas Specials visit our website at www.santascabins.com .

How cool is this, we here at Gold Rush Resort Rentals have lowered our minimum night stay from 5 nights to 3 nights so everyone can afford to come up and enjoy the holidays in the beautiful mountains of Big Bear California. We even have Santa who has been kind enough to visit our guests while they’re in our homes.

Want to find out how you can get in on all the holiday festivities? Well, hop on a phone and call to talk to one of Santa’s Helper’s at 1 (800) 363-8303 and we’ll be more than happy to help you have a wonderful holiday……Bre THINK SNOW

Yesterday, Big Bear Valley had snow showers off and on all day, at one point it was hailing. Which isn’t all that unusual for this time of year, it was raining at approx. at 5:49 pm with snow on the way as soon as the temperature drops a little. Perfect time to hit the slopes one more time before the seasons up !!!

Or just relax by the fire and roast some marshmallows and drink some hot chocolate and take in the beauty that is Big Bear with our towering pine tree’s and magnificent eagles soaring thru the sky. With the squirrel’s chasing each other and the birds chirping. No freeways or skyscrapers or road rage, just the serenity of the mountains.

Interesting Weather

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Well the weather on Wednesday was a little bit odd for a spring day in April.

First we had a wind storm on Tuesday night but then Wednesday morning it was a little bit sunny but by Wednesday afternoon the wind was back. Then we got a cross between snow and hail coming down, that only lasted for about 15min.

It tried to rain for a few minutes but then that turned into snow which gave us a lite dusting on the ground which was completely melted away by Thursday morning.

I am looking forward to seeing what the weather brings for the mountain tomorrow.

Snow Arriving This Morning!

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

Well, folks, it be snowin’ outside!

They said it was coming, and most of us locals had our doubts, but the forecasters were right. It is quite a storm out there. It is cold, the wind is howling and the snow is falling steadily.

But what this means, is that is could prolong the ski season. So there is still a chance to break out those skis, yet again, and have your last runs of the season, but I recommend you make those reservations now, because, starting tomorrow, the forecast is calling for nothing but sun.

C’mon, just make the call to Gold Rush Resort Rentals, you know you want to! TOLL FREE 1-800-363-8303

Back To The Mountains & The Beautiful Snow

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Driving back up the mountain this morning was so relaxing watching the sun come up over the hills. Slowly going from the sand and surf all the way back to the snow still on the ground up here in Big Bear was so nice to see. I got home early enough to take a nap for a couple of hours before I came into work.
