Swimming in Big Bear Lake

The Bear Valley Recreation and Park District’s Swim Beach is now open daily, except Tuesdays, through Labor Day September 7th.

 

Opening at noon daily to 5:00pm, it is open to the public with certified lifeguards on duty at all times.  

 

The facility offers a beautifully clean, safe fun including a white sand beach, charcoal BBQ’s, picnic tables, grassy area, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, softball fields, playground equipment for the little ones and even a snack bar, with lots of goodies: Water, soda, candy and other munchies!

 

Prices are only $5 for 13 and up, $4 for children 3 to 12 years old and just $1 for children 2 and under.

 

This weekend join us for a free family movie on the beach “Inkheart” on the 8th! It’s the last one of the summer so don’t miss it!

 

 Gates open at 6 p.m., and the movie stats at 9 p.m. Bring your coolers, lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a night on the beach with a movie for the entire family.

 

There will be a bounce house and the snack bar will be open in addition to the Kiwanis Club selling hot dogs, burgers and beverages during the movie.

 

No alcohol or glass containers are allowed inside the beach area. Admission to the show is free so come join us…hope to see you there!

Open Daily is The Moonridge Animal Park, for all the little ones, or for all ages!! The zoo is located at 43285 Goldmine Drive, Big Bear Lake, their local number is 909-878-4200! Hours are mon-friday 10 am- 4pm, tickets are fairly affordable! Give them a call.  Children under three are free!!! :) They have animal feeding tours daily except for Wednesday….

There is the Big Bear Queen Lake Tours over at the Big Bear Marina, they’re located at 500 paine road, in Big Bear lake! If you feel like taking a dip in some water… then I would recommend the Pine Summit Christian Camp Swimming Pool, location at 700 Wren Drive, in Big Bear Lake.., They’re open daily!! There  is also the Swim Beach which is located in the Meadow Park Area. What’s nice about the Swim Beach is that it  has that beach feel in the mountains, with life guards on duty! There is sand, volleyball, grassy pic-nic areas, a snack bar, b-b-ques, all sorts of things to be entertained with your out-ting!! Make sure to stay hydrated and don’t forget to use the sunblock!! Swim Beach In Big Bear Is Open!

The Swim Beach located within Meadow Park is now officially open for the season. The current lake temperatures are in the 60s. Qualified, certified lifeguards are on staff and a snack bar is also open for convenience.

The white sandy beach is surrounded by Meadow Park which offers BBQs and picnic areas for those who wish to endulge themselves by making it an day or evening picnic etc. An extra treat for sunbathers is showers in the area to rinse off the sand before getting in the car.

A brand new 16 foot slide is installed and ready for kids! Hours of operation are currently noon to 5pm on both Saturdays and Sundays.

June 18, the  Swim Beach will be open every day. The beach is located at the western-most end of Park Avenue at Meadow Park in Big Bear Lake, and admission cost is $5 for adults, and $4 for seniors and children up to age 12; season passes are also available. 

The beach will also serve as the setting for the Fourth of July concert featuring Lou Gramm of Foreigner. Many great, lakeview seats are still available, and proceeds will benefit the Rec & Park’s Teen Center programs. For ticket information, visit BigBearParks.com, or call 866-9700.
